Sotto reacts to Duque’s ‘flatten the curve’ remark: “Baka fatten; daming tumaba”
Senate President Vicente Sotto III reacted to a statement made by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III saying that the Philippines already flattened the COVID-19 curve as early as April. Netizens cannot reconcile the statement made by the health secretary to the actual number of COVID cases.
Sotto then said in jest: “”Baka fatten the curve ang ibig niyang sabihin. Daming tumaba.”
Duque took back what he said and clarify that the proper term to use should be “bent.”
As of this writing, the total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines is 58,850 with 1,614 deaths and 20,976 recovered.
